Paul Sale is a Senior Consultant at the Hayes Group, and is also an independent consultant and an AlixPartners Adjunct Consulting Expert specializing in HR processes, analytics and the optimization of human capital in organizations. He has 30 years’ experience helping businesses, individuals, and management teams maximize their full potential. Paul’s expertise includes: M&A, organizational design, HR assessment & strategic planning, executive coaching, competency modeling, and leadership assessment & development. He has in-depth experience working with C suite executives; including helping Cisco select a new CFO and creating the structure to facilitate a smooth transition.
Paul has held diverse senior HR generalist positions with three major companies: Cisco Systems, Fidelity Investments and Federated Macy’s. He has a proven track record for producing outstanding business results within competitive, fast paced business environments, while effectively balancing the needs of the business, customers and employees.
In client engagements, Paul:
-Was a Key member of the mergers and acquisitions teams that facilitated the Macy’s Lazarus Rich’s merger, Joseph Horn acquisition, Macy’s Federated Merger, and WebEx acquisition into Cisco.
– As an external consultant, Co-Lead the merger planning and integration for two large global Branding businesses, to include all end to end human capital elements; And developed & lead the strategy to enhance the HR functions capability to manage the merger.
-Managed Cisco’s global HR business Operations PMO, & HR Effectiveness functions to deliver on time, on budget services to 43,000 employees in 130 countries.
-Developed and managed the global HR Operations function for Cisco’s $8 billion Services business with 12,000 employees.
-Co-Lead the Learning and Development transformation; and marketing competency model development for a major medical supply company.
-As the Multi-Site HR leader for Cisco’s United States sites outside headquarters spearheaded and implemented a governance model to drive effectiveness and reduce cost.
-Coached senior executives, to include Retail, Consumer Products, Technology, and Financial Services.
Paul was educated in England where he studied psychology at Guildford College, and did further studies in the US. Paul previously served as a member of the NC Lieutenant Governor’s taskforce for STEMS education and served on the advisory board for Hospice of Cincinnati, the Cincinnati Youth Collaborative and was a Partner with GK Gawad Kalinga – Homes for the Homeless. Paul’s certifications include: Hogan Assessment Coach; Building High Performance Teams, Cuphy Consulting; TopGrading; and is a PDI Trainer.
